About

RevPartsWorks

RevPartsWorks is a French workshop specialising in 3D-printed automotive parts: gauge pods, interior trim parts, air intakes and bespoke fabrication — and in the development of the OPT-1, its first instrument.

Everything is done here: measuring on the car, modelling, printing, fitting, inspection and shipping. Nothing is reprinted from a file downloaded off the internet.

The OPT-1

The OPT-1 is a digital oil pressure and temperature gauge developed entirely in-house: circuit board, firmware, interface and housing.

The starting point is simple: everywhere else, monitoring both values means two sensors and two engine taps. The OPT-1 does it with one Bosch sensor and one tap. On top of that sit an alarm that follows engine speed, a G-meter and session logging — functions you won't find together anywhere else.

The project is in beta testing. It will ship late and right rather than fast and rough.

Where it started

On a twenty-five or thirty-five year old car, the part you need no longer exists — or never did. A gauge pod that sits properly in the air vent, without drilling the dashboard and without a crooked pod glued on top: you simply can't buy one.

What does circulate is either unobtainable, bodged, or printed in PLA from a model uploaded by someone who never fitted it to a car. That gap is what RevPartsWorks exists to fill.

How a part reaches the catalogue

  1. Measured on the car. The original drawings are long gone, and two examples of the same model aren't always identical. We measure on the vehicle, not on a drawing.
  2. Modelled in SolidWorks. Every part is drawn from scratch.
  3. Printed in ABS. Slower and fussier than PLA, but it is the only material that holds up behind a windscreen in full sun or next to an engine.
  4. Fitted for real, then corrected. The first version is almost never the right one. We fix it and start again.
  5. Listed only once validated. No part enters the catalogue without having been fitted to a vehicle.

Custom work

A good part of the work never reaches the catalogue: adaptations, reproductions of unobtainable parts, pods drawn entirely around one specific setup. Different diameter, engraving, a particular integration — most models can be modified.
